Does anyone know how Florida calculates GPA

They take your academic classes and unweight them and recalculate on a 4.0 scale. IF I remember correctly.

what about ap classes. How does that figure into gpa calculation

I think I am telling this correctly (it was last year), but I think they take out any extra weighting and calculate it as an A=4, B=3, etc. then look back on the rigor of your schedule and give extra points (?) for that. The best thing to do would be to call the admissions dept. Everyone I have spoken to at UF has been extremely helpful.

they give you .5 for honors and a full point for AP. So, a B in an AP class is a 4.0. If you get an A in a honors class it is a 4.5 (A in regular class is a 4.0)

This is straight from UF's Honors Program web site:
GPA: A weighted GPA of at least 4.0 as computed by the university's Office of Admissions. When computing a student's high school GPA, the university only counts academic classes (not band, driver's education, gym, etc.) and adds extra weight to the most challenging courses: (1) an extra one-half grade point for all high school honors courses; (2) an extra full grade point for all AP and IB courses. For questions regarding UF's GPA computation, please contact the Office of Admissions at (352) 392-1365.

what about dual enrollment

dual enrollement is weighted at .5, same as honors. At least according to my guidance councellor.
