i know a person who got one who isnt smart, (AT ALL) so maybe its not a likely letter :(, i was getting all excited!

well my friend got a letter from UCLA the same day i got this email, and he said his letter basically said he was accepted something like "the college of engineering has recommended you to be accepted...you will receive your formal acceptance later on." UCB's definitley wasn't that direct

Any out-of-staters receive the email?

I think it's for people in specific majors.

I hope ECCS is not one of "specific majors"

I didn't. and I'm from out of state. I received the one for UCLA though.

Long Island here, and I received it.

and I also have pretty bad stats compared to all of you ;P

dnag it. what about tomorrow? Maybe they didn't send all the letters in fear of a computer crash?

I just got mine today. Feb 24th

i got it and i'm pretty dumb.

so i guess this means everyone gets it :(

i honestly think this has nothing to do with acceptance or interest, just your major. If you didnt recieve a letter your major probably doesnt fall into the science/math/engineering category... just a guess

My major is in humanities, its one of the "______ Studies" majors.

EDIT: To those who got it. Are any of you going to the presentation for the Coalition? It has an invite on the e-mail.

I just got it too. ^^

i applied undeclared and didn't get one. I think it might have to do with major, esp. since only the engineering ppl i know got it for UCLA.

just a spam mail

It may be a way for Berkeley to increase it's yield, or that's what I'm assuming. Afterall, a lot of the engineering people are hyped up now because they got a letter saying they're basically in at UCLA. So this is to keep people excited about Berkeley perhaps?

I applied under Rhetoric in L&S and I got this dumb email.

I just got it. I am not a particularly strong candidate for engineering. 1430, 720, 720, 640 sat wise. I am also asian. I dont really think I'm a minority. Maybe they are sending it to everyone.

But if I applied mathematics and didn't get it, well, it's a bit worrisome.

got it from the diversity coalition. I don't think it means anything.
