<p>ok I often hear that you should make yourself stand out from all the other applicants, whether through your ECs, grades, or essays. My question is would an essay topic like say that I know someone who i s more comfortable doing HW while on the toilet(literally no joke, he explained it to me and some other friends, it was quite interestin actually)be something that would stand out and this person is a pretty good writer so he would not make it sound creepy or anything. Any ideas lol?</p>
<p>Toilet humor is usually a big turn-off in admissions, but if you treat it mock-seriously, you <em>might</em> be okay. Just don’t come off as flippant. It’s a fine line.</p>
<p>I think the toliet idea was used in an essay from “on writing the college admissions essay” so I wouldn’t use it cause some may think u stole the idea.</p>

<p>it’s better to use judgment. if something weird and different can be pulled off right, go ahead an do it, if not, it’s better to stick with being plain jane vanilla.</p>
