<p>I had written an essay and I asked one of the parents on the board to read it. The parent did. Gave me a +ve feedback. But then later he/she never replied to any of PMs.</p>

At least with parents, you know they probably aren't stealing your essays. That's always a concern when students offer to read essays and then don't reply after getting the essays.
Myself, I don't read essays because it takes too much time.
If I were a student and needed essay help, I'd pay the fee to get guaranteed help from one of CC's counselors. I wouldn't rely on replies from people on the boards here.</p>
