Weird new sat to act conversion?

When I use collegeboard’s conversion calculator, and I put 1520 from new sat to act, I get 34. But when I convert a 34 on the act to the new sat, I get 1540? I’m confused. So is my 1520 a 34 or a 33?

I’m not sure if this is right so please take my answer with a grain of salt. But I think it might be because of the variability within a certain ACT score. So what I mean by that is that a 33.5, 33.75, 34.0, and 34.25 are all a 34, so this might cause a bit of fluctuation when converting. Just my thoughts.

SAT covers more “data points.” ACT has 36 possible scores while the SAT has 160 possible scores. So a 33 for example can vary from 2140 to like a 2200 (old sat). I haven’t taken the new SAT so I don’t exactly know how conversion between the old and new SATs works.

So is my 1520 a 34 or a 33?

nvm
