<p>Dunno if anyone had this sort of request,but I got one from my new future roommate requesting me to change rooms with his buddy since he wants to be with him.Will that cause any trouble in my part with the RA?Last thing I want is fines and other bullcrap.</p>
<p>Why don’t you just ask the RA? You would need to do it officially anyway. If you can’t do it, you can’t do it.</p>
<p>The problem is I am coming here new.I have no clue who the RA will be.</p>
<p>The problem is he wants to me to change it with his friend(the same exact room) and I understand that.But I don’t see myself swapping keys at the very beginning of my day here or wait for his stupid a*s to show up.</p>
<p>If you don’t know who the RA is, contact Residential Life (or whatever your school calls it).</p>
<p>Definitely do it officially - don’t just hand over keys. I don’t know what your school policies are, but at the very least there will be regulations on the state of the room (ie damage). And if you’re not the one in the room, it could be problematic down the line.</p>
<p>You’re going to need to contact the Office of Residential Life at your school.</p>
<p>Contact your school’s department of resident life.</p>
<p>If you both agree to it, just contact the Housing Department at your school and they can probably painlessly switch it officially. </p>
<p>A lot of people did that at my school.</p>
<p>It should be easy enough to do, but don’t do it unofficially. You’ll get all sorts of stupid write ups and possibly fines. At least at my school you would.</p>
