Weird...

ok i just checked the mail and got something very weird from Tulane University. Originally they had given me a free application (the one that like everyone got), I filled out the basic online thing, but never did anything more. I had decided there was no way even after Katrina they would let me in, my stats just aren't there. So I never finished the supplemental stuff like recs and transcripts.

i thought they would just drop it, but i have persistantly gotten emails, mail and they even contacted my counselor to bug me. I still thought there was no way.

then i check the mail today and they sent, in a yellow envelope "urgent racs express gram" to tell me they are making final scholarship decisions and they need me to complete my app still, by april 14. it as a ps that reads "i think you have the ability, courage and character to join the Tulane campus"....

I'm a realist, I know that my stats do not show I have "ability, courage and character" to go there. But now that I've gotten some rejections and Tulane has been sooooo persistant, I'm kinda thinking I should follow through.

Ok...longest post ever I know....does anyone have any insight? Is this just another one of their blank mass mailings similar to how they did the free apps or is it more?

I'd say go for it, what is to lose, right?

I think you should do it. You have nothing really to lose and a great merit scholarship would be awesome this late in the "game".

How do stats show "ability, courage and character"? I believe essays do, but from numbers? Ability, I can believe. Courage? Character?
