I'm just curious if there is any difference between the welcome days at northeastern in boston and the local receptions being offered, and if theres any reason to attend the local reception if i already attended the welcome day.

Welcome day is more geared towards you getting to know your department/major better. When I went for the EA Welcome Day, they gave us all the information about my major and even gave a tour of the building. I thought it was really helpful and was basically the deciding factor for me
You also get to see the dorms, eat at their dining halls (for free!), and if you’re in Honors, you get more information about it.

From what I know, and what their mass emails in my inbox say, the local reception is more centered towards you getting to know other people who live in the same area who also got into Northeastern. They probably will not talk to you about your certain major, but instead, will be more broad about what Northeastern is, and talk a lot about broad topics like co-op; much like what they’d do at a typical college fair.

If you still cannot decide between Northeastern and the other schools you’ve been accepted into, I would go just to see what they have in store. Otherwise, I think it’s a total waste of time.
