Welcome Week at NYU

What goes on at welcome week? Is it really "community building" for a week without any classes? It must be so much fun.

There are random events, like dinners and a secret concert (the musical acts they get tend to be pretty great), opportunities to buy your books, floor meetings, panel discussions, informational sessions, lecture, Sexton’s welcome address, each school’s convocation, and the opportunity to do things in the city as well, like attend a show on Broadway or go to the U.S. Open.

The site detailing everything is here: [NYU > Student Resource Center > Events and Traditions > Welcome Week > Welcome Week](http://www.nyu.edu/src/events.traditions/welcome.week.html)

welcome week is amazing. Free food, free parties.

two events which you must go to, and i recommend all your friends to attend is the hypnosis show and the dance at the end of the week. most of my friends have been to the hypnosis show 5-6 times in their 4 years at NYU. its THAT amazing. so keep an eye out for it

Stern gives out tickets to the US Open Tennis tournament.

Welcome week is a chance to hang out, have fun, and meet people. Most events are free and are lots of fun. The calendar will be overwhelming bust do make sure you go to a lot of them. This is a great time to learn about all of the organizations at NYU and how to get involved at the school.
