Wellesley Class of 2020 ED Thread

@xyx5182 we did pretty well at nats last year

@happytracks that’s awesome. My school is pretty small, and we’ve only placed from 5th-10th in the state tournament in the past few years…

I love how everyone on here is just so supportive of each other–proving I made the right decision by applying ED! :slight_smile:

@tankod123 Same! Im glad I did ED. Just a few more days left!

@misschoding I know!! I’m so nervous, and scared, and excited!

@tankod123 I totally agree! Even though I don’t know the decision yet, I still have to say that EDing Wellesley was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life!

@tankod123 same! One of the main factors that attracted me to Wellesley was the strong and supportive community. It makes sense that the applicants act the same :slight_smile:

Has anyone done a semester or year abroad?

@rivers86 I am an international student and have studied in the States since freshman year, so I guess I’m kinda in the middle–studying abroad from my perspective but not really since I’ve been here all 4 years. What about you?

Where are you from?

@poorstressedgirl China :slight_smile:

For everyone new to the thread, what are you looking to study? If you aren’t sure that’s okay too :stuck_out_tongue:

@eapndme I’m interested in Anthropology, especially Medical Anthropology, which isn’t offered as a concentration of this major at Wellesley, but I am also looking into the Health and Society Minor there. Oh, and Women and Gender’s Studies. I guess I am kinda all over the place, but I definitely would love to study something interdisciplinary!

Oh also if I can add on to this what did everyone write their common app essays about? Mine was about my hispanic background

I wrote mine about growing up with repressed women around me in a very patriarchal environment, and how that shaped who I am today. Oh gosh I am SO nervous!!! 4 days left!!!

I spent my Junior year in Beijing! Where in China are you from?? :smiley:

@xyx5182

I want to major in Chinese…
And I wrote my essay on becoming comfortable with my sexuality through bonding with a bunch of middle-aged gay chinese men in an LGBT center I volunteered at in Beijing. Like it was about how I found something I had in common with these people who are so much older than I am and live in a different community and lgbt community and culture than I do and how it helped me accept myself.

@rivers86 Wow that’s so awesome! I am from Hunan province in the central south.

@rivers86 Your story sounds so amazing!!! I’m sure it’s stands out uniquely in the pool. And smart choice on your major :wink:
