Can anyone share the financial aid offered versus what you expected? It’s why my daughter didn’t apply ED.
@filmmomvt Not going to say any of my exact numbers, but I can tell you I expected a lot more and didn’t get it. I will be going, but my family’s going broke to let me go :((
Oh no, @Hippoge do you think asking for substantial financial aid (almost 80%) would hurt my application?
@bookboozer I don’t think it affects your chances of getting in, but do keep in mind that if you get in, you may not be able to afford it. I can’t say for sure, but you should double check if Wellesley is need-blind admissions.
Wellesley is need blind for US citizens and permanent residents (green card holders), but not for internationals.
@Hippoge Are you saying that the package you were offered differed significantly from your NPC results, or just that it differed significantly from what you’d hoped for?
@allyphoe in a sense, it wasn’t what I hoped for because my family had many special circumstances which weren’t taken into account on (sorry I’m not sure what the NPC is) the FAFSA or CSS Profile.
@Hippoge NPC means Net Price Calculator. I’m an international student so that would be need-aware for me. I’m hoping for the best. Counting down to results day. It’s so stressful
NPC = Net Price Calculator. It’s how you can know when you apply how much a school is likely to expect you to pay. Works best for domestic (not international) students with parents who are still married to each other, and where no business is involved.
