oh no!
I’m super worried because my first semester grades weren’t amazing. But I’m pretty confident in my ACT scores and high school grades and my college ECs have been pretty good (I think!). plus my interview and faculty recommendations were nice. I’m struggling between extreme optimism and horrible nerves!
While I have he grades, my ECs aren’t very impressive so I’m not hopeful but maybe by some miracle I’ll be admitted
what are your ECs? I don’t even know what impresses them in college. I just do a bunch of theatre (stagemanaged/assistant stage-managed five shows this year) volunteer for admissions, the women’s center, and take back the night.
I was heavily involved in theater in high school and it basically took up all my time. I was vice president of drama club my junior year and then president my senior year. I did some tech stuff (props head, costume head, assistant stage manager) and I had a lead role my senior year. I volunteered with the Salvation Army every year of highschool and college. The only EC I have specifically as a college student is being a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an honor society for community college students. I’m hoping my 4.0 and class rank in high school (top 5%) will make up for it.
What did you guys write about in the Wellesley 100 supplement?
One of the things I love about Wellesley is that they actually name their buildings after women. I think that means so much- I go to a college that has only allowed women to attend since '69, and men are the majority of the history here. We have two or three buildings with women’s names, and they’re only from the big donor families.
I think being able to see women’s contributions so concretely on campus is so empowering for the women there.
I pretty much wrote the exact same thing for my essay ^ lol
guess we won’t get points for originality haha
I outlined my own curriculum and talked about my plans for getting involved with the Wellesley community. I don’t think it’s about originality, but more about what Wellesley means to you and what you can bring.
Yeah you’re right. I’m sure even tho our essays are similar we each have our writing style and added our personal touch. Hoping for good news for all of us
I keep watching videos of Wellesley and reading about student experiences and just falling in love with the school
