Wellesley sports pull?/chance me?

So I contacted a wellesley and gave them my unofficial transcript, game footage, and a couple of highlights. The recruiting person replied saying I would be a great fit on the team/for the program and academically as well. They mentioned that the application people really like the courses that I took... However I do know that my gpa is slightly lower (by about 0.1-0.2) than their average gpa acceptance rates. But according to what the recruiter/assist.coach said, does this mean I have a better/increased chance of getting into the school?

To give you and idea, I'm an asian student in one of those top public high schools in Silicon Valley. My grade is a 3.65 cumulative, uw, with a really intense junior workload (3 of the hardest ap's available that year @ my school+an honors). But sadly my gpa tanked due to my junior year. I'm currently taking 3 ap's( one of them one semester only) and one honors. After first semester senior year my gpa will probably go up a little. I rank top 50% with my current gpa. I got a 760 on my sat bio and 800 on sat 2 math. I will be taking sat 1 the coming Saturday and probably will score 2150 or above (according to my diags). I've taken 3 ap tests and got fours on all of them :( though. I joined a couple of clubs and have around 200 hours of volunteer service. I've also interned at some pretty nice places the last two summers.

What do you think my chances are?

I think you have a really good chance. Good luck!

Take your question to the athletic recuiting forum. Lots of knowledgeable posters there.

ok yup found it, thanks!

The coach should be able to do a pre-read with the admissions committee and give you an indication of your chances, which appear to be very good.

@nervedoctor Ahh I hope so! Thanks!
