As reported by the California Aggie…UC Davis fell in rankings because of a mistake.
"Ninety-eight percent of UCDs faculty consists of professors or lecturers possessing professional, postdoctoral or masters degrees, but the Student Affairs Research and Information department reported the university to have 64 percent of faculty carrying such degrees.

As a result, UCD plummeted 131 ranks in faculty resources, resulting in the overall six-rank drop. The university also dropped from 11th to 14th in the U.S. News top public universities report."

In actuality we moved to 40 according to the article

-“Also, the Shanghai Jiao Tong Universitys Institute for Higher Education compiled a list of top universities in the world, where UCD placed 41st.” (From Cal Aggie Article)

So guys essentially remember to spread the work especially on CC of where UC Davis places. When students are making their decisions for colleges come April let’s all get on those boards and remind them where Davis actually places.

GO AGS! A university on the rise! Not only academically…but SOCIALLY and ATHLETICALLY.

Technically it was the Student Affairs and Research office's error ;) I still think the rankings don't matter that much, but we should always be above UCI and UCSB :)

wow....
next yr should be better ;)
but really..this is a good news AND a bad news..
it's good to know that this was an error..but shouldnt have made this error..hmmm

All you AGGIES out there.......don't forget to go to the football game on September 17th at Stanford(the fake farm) for the battle of the farms and support the blue and gold. Yep, not only are we a top-notch academic institution, we are only one of three UCs(Cal and UCLA are the others) with a football team! UCD......35 straight winning football seasons and counting! Go AGS!

where does it say UCDavis is not 48 and 40. is the #40 rankings simply speculation or has this been communicated by USnews to UCdavis. I think #48 ranking make sense because UCSC has higher SATs than UCDavis.
