Were you at NY Unifieds?

My daughter had a great time at NY Unifieds this year and was wondering where some of you ended up. I will describe and maybe some will recognize. At the Penn State callback- on Saturday, there was a really pretty light skinned girl with long, curly blonde hair. My daughter said she heard her sing and she was amazing. I spoke to her very nice dad in the lobby (and I saw him checking into college confidential in the lobby computer so I know you're on here-lol). I do know she has a sister who is a senior at Ithaca. The other girl was adorable and petite in stature. Her parents are also very nice. Sorry, but the way we remember you is that your new leotard had a huge rip and your dad had to go out and get you a black shirt. You were seeing Porgy and Bess.

Is this any of you? Just wondering about your acceptances and if you know where you are going. My daughter wore a beautiful, fitted royal blue sleeveless dress and has long, brown, curly hair. Her callback leo was black with a turquoise zipper up the front. One other girl was wearing the exact leotard. We're from Florida. She was waitlisted at Penn State and was thrilled that she wasn't rejected. She will attend Northern Illinois for a BFA Acting degree as that's what she wants to focus on and she will continue dance and voice training as well.

Supportive,

It is interesting the connections you make during your audition year, and how you are rooting for people you met along the way. My d was at the 2011 NY Unifieds…and in the year following, has been recognized by many people who were there (and we didn’t know it at the time). D had the distinction of being injured while there – so she often hears the questions “Were you at NY Unifieds last year…and were you the one in the walking cast?” It’s been an interesting conversation for her to have in a variety of settings – at her school this year, when at an audition for summer work, and last summer, when we visited the city and she was asked this while in line at TKTS! I think (once you get some sleep!) we and our kids will always have memories of the audition year, people and places. Congratulations to your d, and all this year’s brave auditionees!

Thanks mommafrog! We do want to root for others and want to know where they end up and it is funny how some people get remembered. I forgot to mention, we also met a young woman named Rae from Cailfornia. She was transferring from Oklahoma City University and auditioning for Rutgers and the college in Scotland. She and her mom were sooo nice! We ran into them on Sunday at Ripley.

Bumping- does anyone recognize themselves here?
