<p>Here's a nice bit of news for the Wes admissions folks: A grad student's research survey of 1,500 college students around the country found that Wes ranked No. 3 among the top 50 schools for the way it handles applicants:</p>
<p>This is not true for the financial aid office though. I called them asking why there was no option (at the time) of checking permanent resident. I figured it was just a formatting issue given that the form stated that permanent residents are eligible to apply. The person I talked to sounded angry and insisted that I wasn't qualified. I think he mistook "permanent resident" to mean illegal immigrant even when I made very clear that I was legal (and still am ...in fact, I'm now a US citizen). My family waited 10 years for our visa to get approved. He was angry all throughout the conversation. If he understood that I was legal, he must've been anti-immigrant, period. His lack of civility turned me off.</p>
