West Point/Naval Academy Chances

Hi all,
I am a current junior interested in attending one of these two service academies.

Unweighted GPA: 3.95
ACT: 33
Will take SAT II for Math 2 and Bio in June
Currently taking: AP Bio, AP Calc AB, and AP Euro
Will take next year: AP Physics, AP English, AP Calc BC, AP Spanish

Extracurriculars:
Varsity Boys’ Tennis (9-12, Captain 10-12, MVP 10,11 so far, League all star/state recognition)
Competitive out of school young men’s choir, sings at high-profile events and travels internationally (9-12, Section Leader 9-10)
Co-Leader of school social justice program that supports special needs youth – big time commitment (10-12, leader 11-12)
One of school’s 8 “House Leaders” that coordinate school events, keep school spirit alive, raise money, etc.
Tutor (11-12), Lead Humanities Tutor (12)

Summer: Paid Lifeguard/Tennis Instructor Job (9-12)
Volunteer at camp for children with special needs (9-12)
Will volunteer at an inner city tennis program for 2 weeks (11)

I understand that tennis is not the ideal physical and cooperative sport that admission officers will gravitate towards, but I hope that it’ll be OK with my leadership. I recognize that I am not in shape for the CFA right now but have begun a rigorous fitness schedule and think I should be fine.

Gender: Male
Race: Biracial – White and Asian (not sure if the latter is a hook at the service academies)

Am I on the right track? Do you guys have any advice?

Looks like you have a shot. Asian is a reverse hook everywhere.

Bump

You do know you have to get a referral from someone, such as a senator.

Yes I am aware of that and have begun the process of contacting my congressional representative.
Are there any other activities/leadership positions or anything else that I should pursue? Have you known people that have attended these service academies? What made them stand out?
Thanks for the help

Since it is election season you might want to volunteer for one of the campaigns or with the office of your state senators/ local congressperson. If you have skills (like IT) beyond basic office work you can do it there to.
