I am a transfer living in West Village this fall. I know where it is located on campus looking at a map but just wondering how far it is from the

Closest dining hall?
Best dining hall?
Marino Center?

I'm also wondering if West Village F has kitchens? I cook quite a bit for myself at home and really debating the different meal plans.

Less than 5 minutes walking to all, and yes it does.

To be more specific, there are basically three dining halls on campus, Stetson East and West (technically, one of them is called “Levine Marketplace” but I don’t hear people use that name very often), on the North side of campus, and the International Village dining Hall on the South side. West Village is right in the middle.

As for which one is ‘best’, its entirely a matter of personal preference. Each Dining Hall has some unique features. Stetson West has a stir fry bar (pretty good, but during busy hours the wait can be insane), International Village has a Tandoor. Both Stetson East and International Village have grill stations. International Village has Sushi and a dedicated Vegetarian station. You can get pizza at all three, which differs slightly by locations, so you may develop a favorite. Basically, unless you want a specific item, you’ll be pretty happy with whatever you wind up eating.

I’m also in West village this year. I was going to go with a profiler for my meal plan, but when I looked at the cost ($13 a meal or something ridiculous like that) I decided against it. There are full size kitchens in all the apartments, so it’s not like cooking will be difficult. And if you don’t feel like cooking, it would probably be cheaper to just go out and get something rather than go to the dining hall, unless you have an absolutely massive appetite.

I’m going to miss IV’s gym though - I’ve never gone to the one in Marino.

“Go out and get something” is NOT cheaper. Obviously the best thing is to do groceries and make a million lunch meat sandwiches. But constantly hitting up wollastons is going to turn you broke.

For $13 though, you can get a lot of food, at least the way I eat. I’m not saying to do that constantly, but if you are feeling swamped or lazy or whatever, the profiler’s expensive.
