I received the offers from Westover/Millbrook/Pomfret recently. For some sad reasons I've already rejected Millbrook:-(. So for Westover and Pomfret, which school should I choose?

I'm strong at Math, but I also learning drawing and painting coz being an architect is my biggest dream. I understand there is a great science program at Westover, which is pretty great. And the digital arts at Pomfret is extremely strong too.

It's kind of like a dilemma, and it's so hard for me to reject any of them. So I'm here to ask you all for your kind opinions, thank a lot:D

Great choices! I know Pomfret better because it was on our list this year. We also had a choice to make, and it was close, but we passed over Pomfret for Loomis Chaffee. You really should try to visit each school as I am sure the feel at each campus is quite different. However, know that you can’t make a wrong choice between these two excellent schools, just pick the one that feels most like the place you want to be!

I am very familiar with Westover - The WISE program is, indeed, incredible (Women in Science and Engineering). Were you able to revisit both schools?

I would look at the bio of the head of school - Anne Pollina - she has been there well over 25 years (maybe closer to 35?) and not only was a math teacher early in her career at Westover, but still teaches advanced math courses and has been instrumental in bringing a very high level of math achievement to her students. She is extremely inspirational. The wise program is science AND engineering - including high levels of math. Check out the pages on the website for pictures of the past years’ WISE events. I think they are still posted.

Hi lankoo
My daughter will be going to Westover in the fall and participating in the WISE program. I agree w/ LiddyB- The head of school is dedicated to math. SHe is pretty inspirational. We are excited about westover- feel free to ask any questions…

Westover. I attended Westover after having been offered admission at a number of other boarding schools. The math program is amazing and the Head is nationally recognized for her work in math with girls. I didn’t love math heading into Westover and left considering majoring in it in college.
