Wharton Admission

Wharton Admits, How did you prepare to get into Wharton when in high school? Did you do any ECs related to business? What are your stats (ranges) like? Thanks.

2250 each section over 700. SAT IIs above 700.

ECs-many. A few with depth and breadth. Music, track and field and a service organization.

A leader, creator and innovator. Start something. Start many things. Nurture them to success and lasting accomplishment. It doesn’t have to be a business. It’s the skills.

32 ACT, 30+ on all sections

ECs- I participated in a lot of them, but I was heavily involved with my youth group and music.

I had no business ECs whatsoever, but I did show in each EC that I could be a leader and a follower, an innovator and a collaborator.

I took all the APs that I could, but the ones that I thought would interest me. I made sure that I was taking a very rigorous courseload that I could manage.

35 ACT
800 x3 on Math II, Bio (E) and USH SSAT
2260 SAT
4.0 UW GPA, 4.35 Weighted.
That said Im from a really competitive area and Im asian so my scores may be a little inflated.
Academically you gotta crush math, can’t be getting too many B’s there.
Extracirricularly I done a lot of business stuff (mine is seaching for the mix between finance and social impact) I made a huge change in my community, BOA student leader, spoke to some senators about my ideas, ect. but I know a lot of people who do not have a ton of business stuff XC runners and other leaders. In sum: Be a leader!

for my full stats check my post history, I think I put it up on the Upenn results thread.

33 in the ACT, 5.9/6 weighted GPA, 750+ on 2 Subject SATs

ECs-Involved with a lot of them but only Student Government event organizing was business related. I’ve been a salesman for this religious organization since 2nd grade, and selling is something that I really enjoy.

Did some economic research and wrote a detailed report, and published my article on the Foreign Policy Journal

2350 SAT, 800 Math 2 and 2 other 750+ subject SATS. 3.8 UW GPA
I actually didn’t have many business-related ECS, mostly just a lot of leadership activities. I think pursuing something outside of school such as an internship or an outreach project helped a lot, so I would say that your ECs don’t have to be specifically business-oriented. Just like other posters said, start something creative and continue it. Demonstrate your leadership skills and make an impact in your community.
