So, yeah...I plan on applying for Wharton. I know Wharton is for business, but is there any Wharton students doing pre-med?

wharton students going pre-med...?

i guess if u drop out of wharton after freshman year or something and take courses elsewhere in penn, then u'd be doing "pre-med."

Yes, I'm sure there are some, and it's doable.

there are some, and it would be doable, but you really should pick one or the other to save yourself a lot of time

Not mention the money you will have to shell out. Make sure that you get all of your foundation class out of the way as soon as possible. Most of the people I know who are Pre-Med/Business major would only take the basic math and science class early on and then take the primary business classes.

It's doable. But you'll have a very tough 4-5 years completing the joint Pre-Med/Wharton BA program in addition to studying for the MCAT.

think about what you want to do with those degrees. an MPH or MD/MBA may better serve you later in life. I usually tell Penn applicants that they can do any curriculum they can dream up, but in this case you really should look at your goals. Medical schools won't care about your business education, and the companies that recruit from Wharton won't care about your "pre-med" classes. It is possible to take all the 6 pre-med requirement classes as a single-degree wharton student (especially if you single concentrate and don't go abroad), but the sooner you choose between the careers, the happier you'll be.
