So I realized only after submitting the application (REA at my dream school) that the terms of the REA meant I couldn't submit apps EA to any other school . . . which I already had. Help?

Please no comments on how teenagers need to learn reading comprehension, I'm fully aware that I'm a moron.

Contact the other colleges and universities, and ask them to move you into the RD pool.

After you’ve done that, you could also send an email to your REA college saying, “Before I submitted my REA application, I had already submitted Early Action applications to X, Y and Z. When I decided to apply here under Restricted Early Action, I contacted those colleges and asked them to move my application from the Early Action pool to the Regular Decision pool.”

Contact each school immediately, with the exception of the Restricted Early Action school, and ask that your application be moved to Regular Decision consideration. Do read the rules of the REA school carefully as some do allow for things like rolling admissions at your public state flagship. You might want to contact your GC and explain your honest mistake and the steps you are taking so they aren’t confused when they receive transcript requests, or if they get phone calls (remote chance however some schools do share EA/ED lists). Good for you for trying to do the right thing once you realized your misunderstanding. Best of luck.

Oh, good thinking, blueiguana! By all means, inklined, do keep your guidance counselor completely in the loop.

Or write to the REA school and ask to be moved to RD. This would allow you to stay in the EA list everywhere else, which would mean a whole lot fewer emails to send!
