Say I send 4 free ACT scores to Schools A,B,C & D for Sep test now. Then when I take ACT in October, will the schools A,B,C and D automatically receive the scores or whenever you send scores, it gets sent once.

If you send scores after taking all the tests, it may then send all scores. Is that correct?

How long it takes for school to receive scores after the request is made on ACT website?

Early application deadlines are typically Nov1 st, does that mean schools need to receive scores on Nov 1st or all they need is application on Nov 1st and scores can come later.

ACT is different than SAT. They only send the scores from the 1 test you requested. If you want other scores sent, you will have to request them separately. Usually a college wants the scores by app date (or it might say on their website what the latest test date they will accept).

If college is listed as one of your free sends it is “sent” when the score is released unless you also took writing section, in which case it is sent as soon as the writing score is released which can be a day to a week after the initial scores are released. If you order it sent after scores come out it can take anywhere from a couple days to a week to process the request and send the score. “Sending” consists of putting the scores into an on-line account the college has with the testing agency. As to a college’s actually showing the score has been received in your application account with it depends on how long it takes the college to get around to downloading the scores and matching them with your file, which can be anywhere from a couple days after they are sent to two weeks depending on college.

As to Nov 1 EA or ED applications, most colleges accept the Oct scores even though they arrive after the deadline date. For some, like UIUC and Mich, the Oct test is too late for EA and they tell you that on their site.

ACT writing score usually take another week. You should check with each school as their deadline policy are different. If you call, they will tell you if they would accept October score and when would be the last day to receive scores and recommendation. Many schools have a strict deadline and all materials must be received by that day. Some schools do not even accept rush score delivery.

Let’s say EA/ED deadline is Nov 1. If the college says they will accept Oct test score , by the time Oct test score comes out it will be sometime 10 th NOV, if you request ACT for test score to be sent after the test scores are out will that be okay? I will check with the school but is that how typically it works. This is assuming you are not requesting free scores.
