I am now a junior in High School. So far the only act of leadership I have is Being president of the Bridge to Medicine club at my high school. I wanted to be treasurer of the Student Organization at my high school, but it is too late now sice I haven't taken any leadership classes. What are other things I could do for leadership to impress college admission officers and to have a chance to win scholarships?

just be yourself....and quit being an ec whore......and you will impress college

I feel I should start more clubs. Any ideas on how to do leadership other than clubs or running for school office?

start a volunteer group to help your community.......start an donation charity..............get people who think like you and start with them and soon you will grow and that will impress college.....or YOU CAN JUST BE URSELF AND ACTUALLY DO THE STUFF YOU LIKE, NOT BECAUSE YOU WAINT TO "IMPRESS COLLEGE ADMISSION OFFICERS"..........DONT DO IT FOR THE MONEY OR IN THIS CASE IMPRESSING ADCOMS........DO IF FOR THE PASSION

Leadership "classes?" I'm sorry, that's ridiculous. You're either a leader or you're not. And if you're not, work hard and you can be. It can't be taught.

lol...we have those classes at our school.

"Leadership "classes?" I'm sorry, that's ridiculous. You're either a leader or you're not. And if you're not, work hard and you can be. It can't be taught."

I always thought those were quite silly.

well said bestmiler.

and BTW raihan, i have no leadership positions. I am not part of ANY school clubs. Why? Because i don't like them. Am I forced to join them? No. Should I need to in order to get into college? No.

Do what you like. I do what I like and although i spend 1 hr or 2hrs on it, i don't think it as a waste of time. If I was in, say Math club, I would get bored till death. Even meetings would be considered a huge waste of time for me. Just do what drives you,, do what you like.

I wonder what your name is?

do something you LOVE doing.
don't do it for college.

you're such a waste of time.

ditto to all.

being yourself will probably help the most during the admissions process. colleges want to know about YOU, not some pretentious person.

believe me, there are some dean of admissions that have been working for more than 30 years i n their job. They most prob. know right away if you're sounding fake or not (esp. in essays)

i am taking leadership techniques next year as an elective

word, i agree with bestmiler

i dont think colleges care if you are part of student council or president of your class

you need to list accomplishments--not titles or epithets
