I know this seems really late but I just moved to a new school district and I need some advice on the ap classes I’ll be taking. I’m already planning on taking AP calculus ab, ap chemistry, and ap literature. I’m wondering what other ap I should take, as I have room for one more and I want to take at least 3 ap exams (I won’t be taking the ap Chem exam). My options are ap Environmental science, ap economics (macro and micro), and ap human geography. I’ve taken AP world history, ap biology, ap psychology, and ap Lang (didn’t take the exam) in the past. I scored 5s on psych and bio, I was very interested during these classes, and I’m considering majoring in one of these subjects. I’m not really a history type so I’m cautious about ap human geo, but I’ve heard it’s an easy class. Ap economics sounds interesting but I don’t know if I’ll enjoy it (I’d have to take regular Econ anyway to graduate). And ap Environmental sounds easy enough, and I enjoyed biology, but ecology was always a boring biology unit for me and I didn’t like earth science at all. I’m just wondering what people would recommend as I’m worried about having never taken an Econ course that I won’t like it, and I’m also worried about not liking the other two courses. Any advice would be appreciated.
Personally, I loved AP Environmental. It really inspired me as far as choosing a major, being active in environmental issues, etc. There wasn’t a ton of homework and I got a 5 on the exam. I would highly recommend it.
I know you didn’t mention it on your list, and you said you weren’t a history person, but I also highly recommend AP US. It’s a lot of work, but it’s one of those classes that colleges really like to see. A friend of mine with about a dozen APs recently started at Princeton, and out of everything he’d taken, AP US was THE ONLY course they gave him credit for. I feel like that says something. Hopefully this helps and I didn’t just confuse you more!
^^^ I feel the same way about apes!
I also think apush is just a good class to take. No wrong choices really, but I know human geo isn’t accepted at many schools and is a really boring/easy class. You seem to like science and with the already challenging workload, an easy ap like apes will be interesting but still give you some time to relax.
