I posted this in the Transfer section but was wondering if anyone who looks at this section could give me any input...

I am in the process of getting my associates in Advertising Graphic Design at my local community college in the spring. I have been carefully selecting schools to apply to for fall '09, most of which are out of state. All of these schools are accredited for Graphic Design and offer BFAs which are my top 2 requirements. I was just wondering if anyone can give me an opinion if I have a good chance of being accepted or not.

I went to Ramapo College for a year and left with a 2.3 GPA and 9 credits that transferred. I am not sure if that will hurt my chances or not.

Currently at my community college I have a 3.7 GPA with 33 credits. I will be transferring with about 67 credits.

I do not believe I have to include my high school information after having accumulated so many credits, but just incase, I had an 1160 SAT and about a 3.2 GPA.

My list of schools includes (but is not limited to):
James Madison University
SUNY Oswego
SUNY New Paltz
SUNY Purchase
Millersville University
Montclair State University
Kean University (as a fallback if I must commute for some reason)

thanks in advance!!!!

I believe MSU would take you. The question is I'm not too sure how reputable their Graphic Design program is. I go there now as a Molecular Bio major, and it has been an interesting experience. MSU doesn't give many scholarships, so don't expect too much from them, but if you filled out your FAFSA and need money, you should get a decent amount of grant money. =)

I included MSU and Kean because I live in NJ and even though I want to go out of state more than anything, I want to be smart and keep them as fallbacks. I know my community college has an agreement with Kean that I can transfer as a junior and I would assume MSU does the same. I also have not heard much about their Graphic Design program, but if it is accredited it must be decent.

JMU is my #1 choice of them all!

yeah, I totally agree with you on that one.

as for me I'm at MSU right now, but trying to transfer to USC. My heart has been set for USC now for 2 years, and I think I'm going to finally apply after boosting all of my credentials. :D

want to transer either ucla or usc (music or buisness major)?
im in one of the best transfer community colleges in California. i was wondering if how could i easily tranfer to a university-
first choice - usc 2nd- ucla.
im not worried about financially though and im not really a very very smart student but very hardworking and focused in college.

im thinking of business or music major. either the two would work for me. my parents wants me to take business (which is good) but i love to sing(no instruments though) Im very passionate about my singing. what is the best way to transfer and how hard and how could it be possibly easy to get to a university. is there a minimum gpa????

if i push through a music major, am i required to play instruments or can i focus on my craft in singing. i would love to take business but heard it takes so long.

pls help me out people.
