I’m a junior and the go to feminist of the grade. My school is relatively small, but I’m of the top 10 ranking. My weighted gpa is a 97 so thats about a 4.0 I believe. Now my sat scores are what Im worried about. I havent taken an official test, but right now my practice tests are all around 1350’s or so. My sister went to barnard, which is why Ive come to love it so much. Im passionate about the school and am told Im a good writer. The only extracurriculars I do are tutoring at a local center and Ive been on the track team since my sophmore year. I want to do an internship at Sadie Nash this summer. Do I have a shot?
It’s really hard to say without your SAT scores.
In general, you seem like a pretty strong applicant. However, a 1350 SAT score is a bit low for Barnard. Fortunately, the SAT responds really well to studying, so do a ton of prep work and shoot for a 1420 or so.
Your ECs are extremely light. In what ways are you active in feminism? Have you done much with your writing? Sibling legacy may help but otherwise I would say you have to step things up a couple of notches in terms of test scores, leadership, and perhaps service to the community. Please do make sure you are productive this summer. (What have you done during your past summers?)
Best of luck!
