Northeastern is very test score conscious so it would be a reach. BU is a match although you may be referred to CGS.

Northeastern is a Reach because of your test scores, although they may offer you the the first semester abroad program - NUin. You can choose from 5 international locations for your first semester and then return back to Boston in January as a second semester freshman.

It’s a terrific way to be admitted because they are not required to report your test scores for the US New World Report ranking. Unfortunately, they don’t offer much financial aid to students in this program, but it gets you into NEU!

BU is possible, but look carefully at the CGS program. It can be difficult to graduate in 4 years if you decide to matriculate into their engineering program or business school. You will be taking just 4 courses first semester -I know students that have needed to take summer courses on campus to meet their 4 year goal. It’s also not that difficult in terms of workload and it’s common to hear that kids are bored. You can request to take an additional class or two each semester but talk with an admissions person to make sure this is still true. That being said, you will not be able to transfer within the school for two years…BU is a wonderful school, but CGS is not for everyone.
