What are my chances at getting into Yale/Stanford?

Hi, I'm either going to apply Restrictive Early Action to Stanford or Yale. Still haven't decided yet. I like Stanford more but I know someone who used to be on the board at Yale and is an active alum and he offered to write me a letter.

Other schools I'm applying to: Williams, Pomona, Middlebury, Bowdoin, WashU, Cornell, Claremont McKenna, Tufts, Colby, Bates, Pitzer

Intended Major: Enviromental Science or Economics. Not set in stone on that yet though

Ethnicity: White
Gender: Female
Location: Westchester, NY
School: High ranking public school with IB Program
Family Income: Don't need to worry about any financial aid

GPA: 4.4 (weighted but my schools GPA is strange. Can't tell much out of context. Basically I'm a straight A student. All A or A+, no A-)
ACT: 33. 34 math, 31 english, 31 reading, 34 science
My SAT/SATIIs weren't that good so I don't plan on submitting them

Senior Year Courseload: I am an IB diploma candidate. I am taking 4 IB HL classes (math, history, english, and art) and 2 IB SL classes (bio, italian) and TOK. Last year I took SL physics instead of bio. But the rest of the courses are 2 year courses. I am also in the science research program.

Extracurriculars:
President of Model UN Club
Green Club
Elected representative in student government. (Sophomore year I was the secretary and Junior year I was the parlimentarian. This year I am running for president but the elections haven't happened yet. I think I will either be president of vice president though)
Activites club
Girl Scouts
Varisty Lacrosse
Youth Service Council
Voulnteer tutor
Peer Leader

This past summer I interned at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and conducted independent research. (I am having the director of the lab write me a letter of rec). I am entering my paper in Intel STS and will also be competing in other science competitions. There is a (95% chance that my research is getting published but it won't be done in time for applications)

The summer after my freshman year I went on a service trip to Thailand for 5 weeks.

No job - just babysitting

I am also a member of the National Honor Society and the Italian National Honor Society

how is your GPA weighted?

the research is very nice, but the rest of your activities are fairly common. If you have other science activities and your recs are as good as you say, then you have a fairly decent chance at both schools. Better than the average applicant.

Every time I see a chance thread for HYPSM, I don’t even have to read through to say:

Reach.

(The research is definitely very impressive and the Yale alum letter will also help you loads - but remember that people even with your stats are rejected from schools at schools at this tier)

For your other schools (in my opinion):

The Claremonts you’re applying to - Reach
Cornell - High Match to Low Reach
Williams - High Match
Tufts - High Match
WashU - High Match

I would say you are on the roll for getting in just like everyone else with your statistics. Just like the guy above me said, even the greatest people get rejected. But don’t lose hope, that recommendation letter for Yale would look great.
