What are my chances at my reach schools-posted 2nd time

I posted this before but I'm posting it again because I only got one response...

I'm a rising senior at a fairly competitive public school in upstate NY:

93-94 GPA (3.8)
Just barely outside of the top 10%
I took regents classes frosh year, then mostly honors soph and junior year, and now I have a few AP's next year...also a rising trend in GPA
1940 SAT
30 ACT (will retake, and will submit ACT)
SAT subject tests not yet taken

My extracurriculars are pretty weak...I do 2 sports and play an instrument, but I have no other clubs, no leadership experience, and no community service (although I will do some from now until I apply).

Assume that my essay and teacher recs are good, but not great.

I have plenty of targets/safeties. Here are some reach schools I'm considering (in order of my confidence level of getting in):

Boston College
University of Virginia
University of Michigan
Carnegie-Mellon
Johns Hopkins University

I know I have very little chance at the last 2, but what do you think my chances are at these schools?

Thanks!

If nothing else give me my chance at UVa…that’s my top school from this list.

from what i know i dont think boston college is that hard to get into. you could be ok with that one. as for UVA, I think your test scores would definitely have to go up because it’s pretty difficult for out of staters to get in. all of these are pretty competitive, so i would just work on bringing up that SAT to at least a 2000. and make sure u take SAT subject tests that translate to your major. JHU says they dont “require” the tests but “recommend” them. so especially if you plan on engineering or something related to science then take a science and a math! oh and get some extracurriculars in there!! clubs or anything that interests you make such a difference. you dont have to be an allstar athlete to have a good set of extracurrics. good luck anything can happen :)

BC: High Match/Low Reach
UVA: Low/Mid Reach (TEST SCORES!)
UMich: Mid Reach
CMU: Reach
JHU: Reach
