What are my chances at New York University CAS?

A little background: I was waitlisted at WashU but rejected from several other schools such as Northeastern, Northwestern, Pomona, etc.

I received the Varsity Athletic Scholar Award in my sophomore and junior year.
I received honor roll every year in high school.

Your ACT is fine, since a 30+ is good enough for CAS. NYU doesn’t use superscore. What is a 94 on a 4.0 scale??? Seems higher than a 3.6 so I guess its fine. You have a lot of ecs, which is great. First generation helps too. I think you are a very strong candidate. I’ve heard that decisions come out on the 30th, so we’ll both know if we got in soon. Good Luck, hope we both get in!!!

your SAT score is good, and rigor of classes is very good. is 94 your weighted GPA, and out of 100? If it is weighted, then you might have a small shot at CAS. is cas the only school you applied to?

There are so many other factors that come into play with admissions, so what I say might be completely different from what the adcoms will say. NYU emphasizes a ton on essays, so if you have excellent essays then you will have a decent shot but tbh the admissions process is so random, no one can really ever be reliable for chance threads

@camwow 94/100 is my W average. 90.1/100 is my UW average. I also applied to the Liberal Studies Program at NYU.

Well you have a much lower chance now since 90.1 is your unweighted GPA. You are probably an average applicant now.

@collegesplzz how about my chance at LSP? I put CAS as my first choice but then LSP as my alternative

You have a good chance at LSP. I’ve read that many people who were denied from CAS got into LSP because they were lacking in one area. In your case, it is your uw GPA. However, you still might get into CAS, but LSP is basically a safety for you. You will probably get into at least LSP. I’m also a student applying to NYU, so I may not be 100% correct, but I have been looking at older threads to come to a conclusion. Anyway, there is nothing we both could do right now at this point, since decisions are already decided and come out in less about 10 days. Do not worry, just stay patient and hopefully luck is on our side. Hope we both get in. Good Luck!!!

@collegesplzz thanks for being honest. Another friend of mine that actually goes to NYU has told me that I have a decent chance into CAS, but a better chance at LSP. I really don’t care what school I get into. I just want to get into NYU. I hope we both get in and thanks for your output.
