What are my chances at these schools?

Hi! I'm currently a NC resident in my senior year but I want to go to school in NYC for nursing. Considering that I'm an out-of-state student (along with my stats below), what are my chances?

2.9uw/3.5w GPA
African American
Female
26 ACT
Got a 4 on Environmental Science AP test
Taking SAT in 2 weeks but projected scores are around 1800/2400

ECs: Environmental club, volunteered at a local hospital, the YMCA, and a non-profit organization that gives furniture to the poor (The Barnabas Network).

Schools that I'm considering:

Hunter College (first choice)
NYU (reach)
Pace University (safety)

Any advice or comments on my chances would be greatly appreciated!

It looks like you’re correct on your assumptions in terms of Safety and Reach schools. You can definitely get into Pace. You might get into Hunter, your GPA is low on the spectrum for Hunter but your ACT is rich on target. (Here are the stats for Hunter) for last year: http://cuny.edu/admissions/undergraduate/downloads/freshman-transfer-adm-profile-10252011.pdf</a>
NYU is a reach, but you never know! Best of luck!

I know my GPA is a little low (I screwed around sophomore year) but I’ll have it up to at least a 3.1uw after this semester. Maybe that will help me when they request mid-year grades? And thank you for the reply!
