Can anyone give me an idea about my chances of admission or UNC Chapel Hill?

At a glance, your chances look solid given the limited profile information provided but acceptance will depend on your essay strength, quality of your ECs, etc. I am a bit puzzled by the disparity between your weighted vs. unweighted GPA given the number of AP classes you have listed (7). It seems that with a near perfect unweighted average your weighted GPA should be much higher. Are most of those classes falling in your current academic year? Just curious. Good luck!
Hi @smack28752 . Thanks for the input. Yes, 4 of the AP classes are currently being taken. My essay is very strong, and I have valuable ECs. Do you think the disparity between my unweighted and weighted GPA will be a factor? I got all A’s in the 3 AP classes I have already taken… Do you think my SAT sufficient? Thanks
Hi Albert G. A’s in AP classes being worth 6 points rather than 4 will bring the overall weighted average up pretty quickly. As a loose rule of thumb, having an unweighted GPA of close to 4.0 and weighted above 4.5 would be what you are looking for.
Current incoming class SAT scores for the middle 50% of students are 640-720 for Critical Reading and 630-730 for Math.Using some rough math, you are probably in the 35th percentile for Math and 45th percentile for CR. It might be worth retaking to punch those up if possible.
Best of luck to you!
