Hi guys, throughout high school I’ve been relatively strong academically and with extra activities but first semester of senior year I may have gotten a D in AP Calculus BC. I wasn’t really slacking off, the class was just way harder than expected.
With the D my academics would look like this:
4.20 W / 3.7 UW (Cumulative)
32 ACT
Extracurricular (Main 5 so I don’t waste your time):
Senior Class VP
Eagle Business Head Video Journalist
Varsity Volleyball
Performing Musician
Part-time job as a referee / scorekeeper
UC’s require final transcripts along with maintaining a 3.0 unweighted GPA for UCLA/UCB, no more than 2 C’s and no D’s or F’s Senior year.
According to the UC website, if you receive any grade lower than a C Senior year, you need to contact the UC’s. Here is the information:
Freshmen: If you change schools, add or drop a course, or fail to earn a C or better in a course after you submit your application, you must notify the UC Application Center by email or postal mail. Your correspondence must include your name, UC Application ID number and your signature (if you mail a letter), and will be available to all the campuses to which you applied.
If you receive an offer of admission, be sure to confirm with the campus admission office that they are aware of the deficient grade or schedule changes. Although you must notify the campus of these changes, we cannot guarantee that a campus can go back to review an application after correspondence has been received. Make sure to save a copy of your correspondence just in case.
@Gumbymom Sorry! I was mistaken. I just knew that the UC’s don’t ask for mid year reports before sending out decisions, so I assumed the OP would be fine.
