Hi there! I’m graduating high school as a part of the class of 2016, and Wake Forest University is definitely one of my top choices so far. Could someone evaluate my stats and consider what my chances of acceptance would be?
-GPA (on a 5.0 scale): 3.83 UW/4.27 W
-SAT: 1980 (680 Writing, 670 Reading, 630 Math), but I took the June test and I’m feel confident that I broke 2000
-ECs: vice president of International Thespian Society, event coordinator of Spanish Honor Society, yearbook editor, student ambassadors, peer leaders, social justice club, student government association
-work experience: culinary assistant at a cooking studio, camp counselor at YMCA
-recommendations/essays aren’t completed yet
Wake puts a very high value on demonstrated interest. Have you toured campus? Have you scheduled your interview? Have you been in contact with the theater department at Wake? (They have a special Presidential scholarship specifically for students interested in pursuing theater.)
Wake takes its Pro Humanitate motto seriously and they are looking for students who will be involved on campus. I think your ECs are on point for the type of student Wake is looking to attract.
I’m visiting campus this summer, but I live in NJ so I scheduled my Skype interview for the second week in July. Although the theatre scholarship sounds amazing, I haven’t participated in theatre outside of school since freshman year, so they might be looking for more serious performers.
