What are my chances? (ED1)

GPA: 88%
School: Competitive/independent

I’m stressing out about a C+ I have in a rigorous 2 credit lit/history class. Since this is such an early grade it was a matter of one error on a paper and one bad that tanked my grade. I have a wide range of extracurriculars and sports. I’m an editor on the school newspaper and a founder/leader of an environmental club. I’ve also attended social justice schools and activism workshops and worked with political campaigns and other related volunteering. I have visited twice, met with the rep, and interviewed.

I have applied to Smith ED already but I’m currently waiting… Though I have other colleges I’m in the process of applying too I’m afraid I should be putting more effort into those applications now.

I’d be more concerned about your overall GPA of 3.4 (Smith average: 3.9) than any single grade. ECs and SATs are good though, so maybe it’s a low Reach for you. Smart you chose ED. But I would keep working on your other applications in case you get deferred.
