I really hope this message doesn't seem stupid because I'm only a Freshman and still not completely clear on the entire college situation.

But last week I visited New York City with my school to sing at Carnegie Hall and I fell in love with the city! I've also been doing a lot of research on New York University lately and I just feel like it's the school for me. I know I'm not going to be graduating until.. 2016, that's why I'm not sure if this is going to be a stupid question.

Considering I haven't taken an SAT yet, obviously, I was wondering what my chances are with my grades.

I've had a rough patch the last couple of years. When I was in grade school my grades were amazing, I never had anything less than an A+. I'm not making excuses, but things have been tough the last few years and I just stopped caring for a while. But lately, I've been thinking a LOT about my future. And I regret so much how much I let myself slack this year. Freshman year only has about two months left for me to bring my grades up.

All year I've had mostly A's in all my classes, once, though my Science grade went down to a B+. But my biggest problem is math, and I'm not sure how much it really matters. Right now, I hate even admitting this, but I have a D+. I have no idea how it got that low. But I will admit that I could've been trying a lot harder this year but my stupid self just started realizing how important this really is.

I'm going to do my best to bring that grade up to at least a B, and I know I can if I work at it. So my semester grades (which as I understand, are the ones that go on your transcripts), will be all A's with one B.

If I keep grades that high until I graduate, which I know for a fact I have the potential to do if I really try, which I will, what are my chances at NYU? I don't know if that's too specific of a question or not, considering I haven't taken my SAT. But I am a very good test taker most of the time, and I believe I can get a very good score on that if I study really hard. I just want NYU so bad and I know I have a few years to go but my mind is set on this. It's a dream for me.

I'm sorry if this made no sense, it's 3 in the morning. :P
But if you made any sense out of it and don't think I'm an idiot because maybe there's no way to tell how that will effect my chances yet, then please answer! Because it would be a great help! Thank you so much!
