What are my chances for admission at University at Buffalo..?

Hello, I was just wondering if anybody could tell me what my chances might be to get admitted into UB with about a 3.4 - 3.5 GPA (a bit under a 90, like an 89) and a 1220 (Reading and Writing: 630, Math: 590) on the new SAT.

I’m retaking the SAT in a week because, despite getting what I think is generally considered to be a pretty decent score, I had a horrible testing experience and I know I’m capable of at least a bit better especially in the math section. I’d like to apply for Early Action as this school is my first choice but I’m not sure I’ll be able to put my next scores on the application because they come out on Nov 17th (Early Action Deadline is the 15th). I’m wondering if I should be fine with my current stats and if I should use them and apply for Early Action or if I should wait until I get my higher SAT scores and apply for Regular Decision.

I’m guessing you will be fine–my S15 was accepted with almost exactly the same GPA (89-90) and an 1170-ish (I can’t remember exactly, but it was slightly under 1200) on the old SAT. He applied RD, though. My S17 was accepted with merit with a 95 GPA and 1340 new SAT…

Thank you! I wasn’t expecting such a quick reply.

I just got acceptance letter via email with 1170 sat (550 Eng/ 620 Math) along with 4.0 UW GPA.
I believe Buffalo takes Nov SAT score for EA, so you should be fine.

@Akamashi when did you apply?!

@Akamashi : Congratulation! when did you received the acceptance letter?

Applied Oct 27th. Received the letter on 31th. Still deciding whether to admit or not.

@Akamashi wow!! i applied october 14 and havent heard

What is your GPA and SAT?

93 GPA 1210 SAT

Oh you should be fine assuming everything else looks decent.

Your SAT score is above average, as well as your GPA. You will def get into Buffalo :wink:

Are you sure? I’ve been freaking out

Because of my GPA, only an 89.

Oh wait you’re probably talking to the other person lol welp.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got accepted on the 15th.

@thewolfinator12 Great Job!!!

Mind if I ask what sort of extracurriculars you had? My stats are extremely similar.
