What are my Chances for (CAL STATE LONG BEACH, NORTHRIDGE, AND FULLERTON)

-Grade: Rising Senior

-Residence: Florida (out of state)

-Ethnicity: Cuban-American

-Unweighted GPA (Currently): 3.4

-Weighted GPA (Currently): 4.6

-ACT: 19

-Volunteer: United Way Women's Leadership Council, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Camila's House (Soup Kitchen), assisted at a Summer Camp, and helped at my local church's back to school drive.

-AP/Honors Classes: Throughout my high school years, I only took honors classes, But, as for AP, I only took three so far. So I signed up to take 4 AP classes for my senior year (I wanted to make sure my senior year was religious, but I can still handle the class in the same time)

-Clubs/societies: Thespian Honor Society, Fight club, Jewish club, and French club.

-Class rank: I'm at the Top quarter in my class.

One of the schools I wish to apply is Cal state Long Beach, Northridge, and Fullerton.

What are my chances? Thanks!

Cal State Long Beach is an impacted school, but with your grades, volunteer work, and honor/AP classes I think you should get in. I can’t say fersher since you are out of state and I am not sure how that works. Good luck!

Activities/volunteering/EC’s are not counted in CSU admissions (except for Cal Poly SLO) -there’s not even a space for them in the application. How it works: You get assigned a score, based on a combination of your GPA & test scores. The computer admits the top scores until they fill in the targeted # of admits.

Your scores are within the range: <a href=“ACT Score Comparison for the Cal State Universities”>http://collegeapps.about.com/od/theact/a/Cal-State-act-scores.htm</a>. You need to calculate your CSU GPA: <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU.

Then use that + your ACT to calculate your CSU index (the score I mentioned) here: <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;

Here are the index standards for each school (pay attention to out of state):

Long Beach: <a href=“First-Time, First-Year Student Admission Eligibility | California State University Long Beach”>http://www.csulb.edu/depts/enrollment/admissions/freshmen.html</a>
Northridge: http://www.csun.edu/outreach/collegeportrait/admission1.htm</a>
Fullerton: http://www.fullerton.edu/admissions/prospectivestudent/eligibilityIndex.asp</a></p>

If you make the minimum, you can apply. To have a good shot, you need to exceed the minimum index by certain amount, though. Good luck!
