Right now I'm a Junior and I have a 3.2GPA UW at a new york city specialized high school for which I had to take a test to get into Also every single one of my courses are honors
Have had AP Stat Ap Env going to take AP Bio AP Calc and AP Chem next
I also volunteer 16 hours every weekend at a local nursing home so far I've accumulated about 100+ hours and I volunteer at a local tutoring place and I have about 100+ hours from that as well. I also plan on volunteering 50+ hours at my local library
I'm a member of my schools Robotics Club, Model UN in which I got an honorable mention in a citywide Conference plus I was a member of Press Corps for the World MUN conference held in NYC, and Senior Class President
I'm also a member of my schools varsity swim team for 3 years now and I play football for a local league outside of school as well I also swim for a boys club
Now I'm also going to be working throughout my remaining junior year, and in the summer as a lifeguard. I took the practice SATs and my projected score is a 2050
W:700 C:650: M:700
What would be my chances for Duke or Northwestern for reg decision or ED and if i apply ED does that affect my financial aid package? Right now my parents make around $35000 a year and i have 2 younger siblings and I'm also a first generation college student.
Or even Ohio State basically I'm trying for a college with a good pre med advising program

Hey, im part of a robotics team too
You are part of alot of extra curricular activites and you show interest by staying with them. But i think it’ll be easier for others to understand your chance thread if you wrote out your leadership positions in any of the clubs or activities you listed as its kind of hard to read and follow as it is. To me at least.

The good news is that if you were accepted, that both Duke and Northwestern would meet all of you determined financial need. However, a 3.2UW gpa and projected 2050 SAT are not typical stats for those that receive positive admission outcomes. I would say that both of these schools would be high reaches.

Volunteering is great, but 16 hours every weekend is an awful lot. You may wish to cut back on your volunteer efforts and concentrate more on your studies, gpa, and prep for SAT/ACT, etc.

Yea I am thinking about cutting back on hours I’m aiming for a 2100+ on the SATs and a 31+ on the ACTs as for the gpa its low because of freshman year but on my transcript it shows a steady growth over the past 3 semesters
