What major? Several programs at McGill require a minimum 710 for SAT reading.

bioengineering at mcgill

I think that you need to apply to several more universities which are considered match or safety schools based upon your numbers.

Denied for bioengineering at McGill with that SAT score.

Are you a canadian highschooler? Because it is different if you are US applying to CA and CA applying to US.

Probably a no at U of T.

I have dual citizenship but I go to high school in the US.

is it true that if you don’t hit the minimums at mcgill they don’t even look at you? because the website also says that the minimums fluctuate from year to year

The minima at McGill are not arbitrary. They are the lowest statted applicants admitted the previous year. You can look back at past years but the minima have been inching up in the most selective programs.

ugh alright. guess i’ll jusr have to hope my act score is good enough

I got a 31 on the act (31 for english and math, 35 for reading, 27 for science). I knwo the science is low, I think I’m going to try again. But the mcgill minimum for engineering and science requires a 29 for science, and 30 composite. I hit the minimums except the science score, do you think they’ll still consider me?

If you are accepted at a Canadian university, you will pay the same tuition as other Canadian citizens. The exception is McGill, which is even better. At least the last time that I checked (several years ago) at McGill you would pay the same as a resident of Quebec.

If money matters to you at all, then you might want to add a safety or two in Canada. There are many very good universities up there, and your stats should make almost all of them safeties (all except perhaps the top 4 or 5). The maclean’s university listings will give you a good list of schools to look at, or you can ask here.

@DadTwoGirls For Quebec in province tuition the dual citizen must have been born outside Canada and never lived in Canada for more than three months.
