I haven't heard anything about BK so I guess none of that. What are my chances for anything else?

You should get merit

I would be very surprised if you didn’t receive the $8K Presidential Scholarship. Good luck!

I’m really surprised you didn’t get a B/K invite. Are you in IS or OOS, and if OOS, where are you from? Don’t know how they selected the invites, but apparently it is not based solely on having the top GPA/test scores and strong ECs or you would have been invited.

I would think Presidential is a given.

OOS, North Carolina. Sorry, forgot to mention it.

Thanks… I’m really hoping for something to offset the out-of-state tuition.

You most definitely will get a merit award. Your stats are excellent. I too am surprised that you didn’t get a B/K invite with such an outstanding record. Good Luck!

Anyone have any idea as to why I wasn’t a semi-finalist?

Ssel…you’re from NC? Why are you even looking at UMD, when you can easily get into UNC at 1/4 of the price? Would take instate UNC over UMD 7 days a week.

UNC has poor engineering… I’m not even sure they offer Electrical.

Did you get any OOS presidental $$ yet?
This year UMCP has increased the amount to $12,000
Give admission office a call if you have not get it
Based on your excellent stat…you should get one

Good luck

Thanks, and yes, I got $12,000. It’s nice that it basically offsets OOS tuition.

Congrat…
Wait and see if you can get more merit $$ from Engineering Dept and please pose it if you got it…
I wish I can get some too.
I heard it is “rare” chances…however, the $$ will go out next week or earlier April

Will do.

To update, I got a letter today for 4k per year from the engineering department.
