What are my chances for NY State Universities?

<p>I'm currently a junior.</p>

<p>In my freshman and sophomore year, I ended up with a cumulative average of about 84.</p>

<p>At the start of my junior year, my older brother graduated high school and began attending college, and this "woke me up" to college preparation. In my first term of junior year, I received a 96 average, and this term I'm expecting somewhere between 96 and 99.</p>

<p>I'm currently taking two AP classes: AP English language/composition and AP Java (computer science).
I also took two college level classes at my local community college. Humanities and College Planning. I received an A in both classes.</p>

<p>I'm going to be taking four more AP classes in my senior year: AP Economics, AP Chem, AP Statistics, and AP English Literature.
I will be taking Honors physics as well.
And I'm going to be taking one college level class again: topics in science.</p>

<p>I'm a member of an international club, the Key Club, and I've devoted several hours to it. (Probably around 30)
I also am going to be doing a large amount of volunteer work at a local Salt Marsh Nature Center over the summer, expecting about 50 more hours of community service.</p>

<p>I just took my SAT on Saturday, and I'm expecting a total score somewhere between 1750 and 1950. I will also be taking it again in November, and will practice over the summer to reach for the high 1900s.</p>

<p>I want to major in computer science, I'm already sure about it. I've always had a passion for the subject, and I've learned much about computer programming throughout the past few years. My AP Computer Science teacher understands my passion and helps me individually to learn new skills. I can get him to write me an amazing recommendation letter too.</p>

<p>And finally, I'm white (although I can legally be called Asian due to my partial Japanese heritage), and I am not the first in the family to graduate from college. My father received a master's and my mother finished about a year and a half of college.</p>

<p>What are my chances for NY State Universities? Specifically Stony Brook as they have a great computer science program!</p>

<p>I think you’ll get into most of them, with the except of Binghamton and geneseo, although it is possible. Stonybrook seems like a good match.</p>

<p>Agree with the guy above. I think you might have a decent shot at Genseo, but it will be dificult for you to get into Binghamton. I think you will get into Stony Brook, it seems like a good school, but first take a look. I know a couple of people there who do not like it.</p>
