What are my chances for Rice?

<p>If I focus on writing really good essays and have a good interview are my chances high of getting in?</p>

<p>As a Junior I always got mail from the Rice admissions office, I don't know if this is a good sign or useless info.</p>

<p>I do live in Houston so i heard that they accept fewer people from Houston to get a more diverse student body</p>

<p>Is there anything that needs improving? I feel weak in my Extra Curriculars</p>

<p>You certainly have a chance, but there are things to improve upon. I think studying and retaking the SAT/ACT could help. Also, I think improving your subject tests would help a lot. Lastly, you need a few more ECs. I would suggest possibly taking and starting another language outside of school. For example, maybe you would be interested in learning Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, or Russian. I think that would make your app stand out. Good luck!</p>

<p>Mail from admissions offices says little to nothing about chances, as they send it to everyone within certain score ranges. It usually just means that you’re not horribly unqualified.</p>
