Hey, I am an upcoming high school senior. I was reading about San Diego state university for a while and I am interested in getting to it, but what are my chances of admission if I finish my high school with a GPA of 3.6/4 and an SAT score of 1020 ?
First calculate your CSU/UC GPA: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
CSU’s use the capped weighted UC GPA.
Then calculate your eligibility index:
(CSU GPA x800) + (SAT score)
An Eligibility index of 4100+ is competitive for all majors except Nursing. I suggest you bump up your test scores for the best chances since SDSU continues to become more competitive each year.
I would say for the best chances, you need to raise your SAT score. Also, depending on the major you want, your chances will vary.
My brother got rejected from SDSU for Fall 2017 applying for Electrical Engineering and Undeclared as a back up:
1230 SAT
3.5/4.0 HS GPA (Not sure about CSU GPA)
Local Area applicant
Probably not but, worth a shot. A couple hundred more SAT points would put you over the threshold - so re-take while you can. I’d also apply to Long Beach and, depending on what you are looking for, maybe Chico or Sonoma,
good luck.
