I'm an ESL student although I'm a U.S. Citizen, I lived all my life in the middle east. My SAT is the not so great: R-490, M-540, W-450.

Thank you!

You need to study and retake the SAT. Even if English wasn’t your first language, your math score should compensate for it. And sorry, but I don’t see you getting into any of the universities that you listed. You need some safety schools. Now get your head up and retake the SAT.

Good luck.

What do you mean by 10th repeat? Did you fail 10th grade? If so, I thought you said you got all A’s…that aside, your extracurriculars are strong, but those SAT scores are going to hurt you. ESL might help that out a bit, but make sure you write a very strong essay, and if at all possible, focus on how your experiences in the middle east effected you. Are you in a military family?

Sorry, but your chances don’t look very high. I don’t know much about the other schools, but I doubt you’ll get in at UCLA or UC Berkeley.

Is getting in the only problem? Or do you need to get scholarships, too?

You have an incredible EC section to your application. But don’t flood all those activities into your college app ; instead choose the few activities in which you had put your heart in and in which you have a considerably strong profile. I’m not aware of Rensselaer Polytechnic institute, but the remaining are few of high-notch schools. The admissions are extremely selective in most of them. As I said, your EC’s are really good, but you definitely need to improve your SAT scores…There is no way you can get into them with the scores you mentioned above. So, my advice to take SAT again(above 2000 is safer).

Good Luck!!!

I did not fail 10th grade, I got straight A’s. I took 9th grade in Saudi Arabia thereofre when I came to the US they did not give me any credit for my freshman year, so I decided to repeat a year so I can get more credit for colleges. No, I don’t need a scholarship.

I took lots my math classes in high school: Algebra I, AlgebraII, College Algebra, Pre-calculus, AP Calculus, AP calculus BC, and AP Statistics.
