I'm thinking of maybe transferring for next fall. I have a general idea to which school i want to apply but I still really haven't made a decision. i was thinking Cornell, Columbia, NYU, Duke or UNC.
So what are my chances with these stats:

college GPA: 3.73
highschool GPA: 4
SAT score: 1720

as far as extracurriculars and awards, i really don't have much just some volunteer work and a travel scholarship i won for a story i wrote.

so what do you guys think?

Transferring as a soph or jr?

You’ll need to give us more information. Just off the cuff, your SATs really hurt you for top schools (e.g., Cornell, Duke, Columbia) and your GPA is very middle-of-the-road for that applicant pool. If you’re applying as a junior and not a sophomore, your chances are marginally better, but not especially high. Your essays and recommendations (i.e. soft factors) will be especially important.

I think you have a good start. I would focus on your ec’s - specifically the “Holy Grail” we talk about on our website.
