Okay, so I applied to PC because i really love the campus and everything I hear about it. But i'm really nervous because now that I have sent in my application and I am just waiting, I feel like i might not get in! What do you think my chances are?

I go to a private Jesuit college prep school.
3.3 GPA
1670 SAT (1100 old SAT)
23 ACT composite
Tons of community service: like 400+ hours
-teaching tennis lessons
-volunteering at a hospital
-volunteer with Amigos de las Americas (mini peace corps thing)
awarded of my school's "201 club" awards for students with lots of service hours

work experience: I have had two part-time jobs

I have been on varsity tennis all four years of high school, and involved in school activities like retreats and things

I'm afraid my grades are low for providence. It is my top choice, and i will be so sad if i don't get in. But i applied really early and i should be hearing back any day now.

I am SO nervous!!!!!
:(

oh and i'm from the west coast, so maybe that will help my chances geographically?

I applied early to Providence as well. Your gpa and test scores are lower than their averages, but your strong extracurriculars will help that. Demonstated interest is a factor for them as well, so hopefully you articulated that to them in some way. The fact that you live on the west coast may be a small advantage over New Yorkers like me, but it really shouldn't decide whether you get in or not. Don't pin all your hopes on one school, since PC's applications have gone up in recent years.

Thanks, I visited the campus right after I submitted the application, so I am hoping they have that on record, or I might have even put it on my supplement, I can't remember.

i think within the next week or so. I was on the website today and there was a message from the admissions guy saying they made all the decisions now they are just proof reading letters to make sure everyone who sent an EA application is receiving a decision letter

wow, i took the SAT's and got 1710 in 7th grade (part of the John Hopkins Program) and this year (8th grade) i got 1790.. what college accepts 1600's???
