What are my chances of being accepted to Harvard, Stanford, USC, or UC Berkeley?

<p>What are my chances of being accepted to Harvard, Stanford, USC, or UC Berkeley?</p>

<p>I am currently a junior in high school and am 1/8 Hispanic. My gpa is 4.0 and I will take 11 AP classes altogether throughout high school. My SAT score is only a 1980 and ACT is a 29, but I plan to retake both tests in June. Two of my teachers have already confronted me about writing a letter of recommendation for me. My school principal has also confronted me about writing a letter of recommendation for me, as well as my academic adviser. I am in the top 10% of my grade level and may even be valedictorian. I also have a wide range of EC's that I will list below.</p>

<p>EC's:
CEO and Founder of a charitable business that helps the homeless
Member of my city's Youth Committee
Led Trick-Or-Treat for troops campaign at my school
Webmaster and communications deputy for my school's ASB
Advertising manager and news section editor for my school's top ranking newspaper
CSF officer and recycling coordinator
NHS member
Scholar athlete for two years for waterpolo and swim
Member of TYE (The Young Entrepreneur)
Created Facebook Page that has over 780,000 Likes
I know how to program in Java and a little bit in HTML, and I have been able to build three websites
I worked at Harcourts Prime Properties Real Estate last summer
I was awarded the President's Spirit of Community Award and the Prudential Community Service Award
Invest in the stock market (currently up around 40% on my initial investments)
I am attending an entrepreneurship camp at USC this summer</p>

<p>I don’t want to be harsh, but I will. You have a minimal chance at every single school you listed. Your EC’s may be good, but your test scores are really, really, really low for those schools. Bring up SAT to 2300, and ACT to 35 and you’ll be a competitive applicant.</p>

<p>Is the GPA you mentioned weighted or unweighted? Your SAT/ACT at least should be about 2200/33 to even have a chance.</p>

<p>you have a fb page iwth 780k likes? could you disclose what page that is?</p>

<p>I don’t think you have a ‘minimal chance’ at all the schools. Because of the strength of your ECs, you definitely have a shot at USC. In fact, I would say that it’s a high match/low reach for you. Berkeley is a reach, but not an impossible one. Given the appeal process, you should have a shot there, too.</p>

<p>Harvard and Stanford are the minimal chance places.</p>

<p>Berkeley and USC are divided into divisions, where frosh admission selectivity can differ between divisions (and sometimes between majors).</p>

Unless significant planning was required, not really something you’d include.
Your GPA is 4.0 weighted or unweighted?
1/8th hispanic means nothing unless you identify as Hispanic (which, with only an eighth heritage, you probably don’t). Don’t say you’re hispanic just for the benefits, it’s completely unethical.
The first poster is crazy. You don’t need a 35+ or 2300+. Test scores are simply to see if you’re qualified. Past a certain point, they may help, but having slightly lower ACT or SAT won’t hurt you (once it passes a certain threshold, that is). FOR EXAMPLE… a student with a 33 ACT and one with a 35. The latter student doesn’t necessarily have a huge advantage; their numbers are both high enough to deem them “qualified”. I’d go for a 33 or 2200. Anything higher is great, but won’t matter too much. Good luck!</p>
