I got a provisional acceptance into UC Irvine under aerospace engineering. It looks like I'll be getting D in Ap statistics this semester (second, I got a B first), and am wondering how likely it'll be that I'll be rescinded. I am taking two other APs, and am passing both, and have above a 3.0 GPA weighted for both semesters. I've contacted my admissions counselor, and he just responded that "your application will come under review" and that there are multiple factors that go into whether or not you are rejected.

Anyone give me some advice?

There is still a little more than a month left of school so first and foremost, I would try to raise your grade up to a C if at all possible. I would also go sign up to see your counselor ASAP and talk with your teacher to see if there is any way you can raise it.

According to my counselor, a D is in rescind territory for any UC so there is a high chance that you could be (assuming you have no valid reason for the grade drop) so talk with your counselor and teacher as soon as you can.

A 3.5 is more desirable, hopefully your 2 opposing AP Courses will kind of deter the low grade of AP Statistics from the admissions committee. On the other hand students are provisionally accepted if there application is not compatible with the average admissions standards of the University. Being that you were provisionally accepted and your AP course fallen beneath the wire, you may be accepted but under certain circumstances, where you would have to take a certain number of courses usually 3, you will then maintain a certain GPA without dropping either one and then you will merge into the University as a standard student, (if you fail to keep up the certain GPA you would be dropped as an acceptance). Some University allow you to attend there prep courses the summer before classes with a fee of course, but this is just my observation on this situation, and it may not be subjected to your case.
